White ink is not for everyone, and may not be suitable for your skin. This is especially true if you have a darker skin tone. White ink reacts differently with different skin and may be rejected by your body.

Pick an area on your body where there will be little exposure to the elements. Damage from the sun will cause your new tattoo to fade faster than it would in other locations. Choose somewhere like your underarm, or your back. This will help protect your tattoo along with sunblock.

Plan out your idea, and make sure it is simple. A complex design will be harder for the artist to do since it will have a more complicated stencil.

I’ve spent some time looking for some of the coolest white tattoos I could find.

‘Loved’ Tattoo

This tattoo is small, but very cute. It is a little reminder that the girl is loved everyday.

‘Yoda’ Tattoo

This is one of the best Yoda tattoos I have ever seen. definitely original.

‘Dragonfly’ Tattoo

The dragonfly on this tattoo reminds me a little too much of clip art, but I still liked it.

‘Untitled’ Tattoo

I’m not sure what is written on this tattoo but I liked it.

‘Flowers’ Tattoo

This is my favorite of them all. This tattoo actually covers most of her chest, yet I find it to be very discreet.

White tattoos are fairly uncommon in people. The basic need for the color white in a tattoo is to highlight an area, or to lighten a color that was too dark. But, do people have just white in their tattoos? The answer is yes.

Why choose a white tattoo? There are many reasons. Some people pick white because it subtle. Others choose white because they feel it looks like a scar or branding. Others get white tattoos because they are truly unique.

For my first tattoo I chose to get a completely white horseshoe. I chose white because of the place I wanted my tattoo. I knew I was going to put the horseshoe on my ankle for good luck, but I didn’t want it to be noticable.

There was a lot of thought that went into this decision. Being that it was my first tattoo I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if it was going to hurt, how much it would bleed, or if I was going to be able to go through with getting the entire thing done. To my amazement the process wasn’t as bad as I had feared.

I also wanted to make sure that my first tattoo wasn’t going to be awkward later in life. I knew I wanted it, but I didn’t want it showing for every event in my life. I wasn’t sure if I would want a long or short dress at my wedding (assuming that I get married), but I sure didn’t want people to look at the tattoo on my ankle instead of me on my special day.

Those are the reasons I chose to get a white tattoo. I wanted something that was unique, but not overpowering.
